Cultural Insight
Becky: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Carl: Price tags in Sweden are easy to interpret. Taxes are included in all price tags, and on commodities it is required by law to write out the price per kilo or liter when it's applicable. This is so you can easily compare the price difference between similar items. Also remember, if you can buy something tax-free, it will be much cheaper since the Swedish VAT is a whopping 25% on most items.

Becky: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
