Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, we’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question “What's the matter?” After watching this video, you’ll be able to make complaints and ask someone else if they’re having any issues.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!

Är allt okej?
Kontoret är varmt.
Once more with the English translation.
Är allt okej?
“What's the matter?”
Kontoret är varmt.
“The office is hot.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What's the matter?”
That's: Är allt okej?
Listen to it again: Är allt okej?, Är allt okej?
“What's the matter?”
This Swedish sentence literally translates into "Is everything okay?,” but it means “What's the matter?” in English.
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
Kontoret är {adjective}.
“The office is {adjective}.”
For example:
“The office is hot.”
Kontoret är varmt., Kontoret är varmt.
